Department of State Launches Paid Expedited Visa Interview Pilot Program
The Department of State has announced a pilot program allowing certain applicants for B visitor visas to pay an additional fee for an earlier interview appointment at participating U.S. embassies and consulates.
Under the pilot program, eligible applicants who already have a regular interview scheduled may pay an additional $750fee to request an appointment within 10 business days, subject to availability.
Important Details
Applicants should understand:
- The expedited appointment fee is in addition to the standard $185 MRV visa application fee.
- Paying the expedited appointment fee does not guarantee visa approval.
- Expedited appointments are available only at participating locations and only if appointments are available.
- Missed expedited appointments result in forfeiture of the expedited appointment fee.
- As of the announcement, the pilot program is available in Mission Mexico (the Embassy and all U.S. consulates in Mexico), with additional locations potentially added later.
